Pete Borchetta’s passion for lighting over the past three decades has led him to numerous job positions in the theatrical and architectural lighting industry. He has served the industry as a Theatrical and Architectural Lighting designer, Theatrical Lighting Professor, Theatrical Lighting Consultant, and Product Innovation Manager.

He has designed a considerable number of productions, industrials, and facilities all over the world; designing for such greats as Carmine DeLavallade, Geoffrey Holder, Gregory Hines, Vanessa Redgrave, Gelsey Kirkland, and Max Road to name a few. Borchetta was a senior member of the Theatrical Lighting and Design-Technology theater faculty at Adelphi University and also spent over 15 years working with theatrical and architectural lighting consultancy of Robert Lorelli Associates, Inc. Some additional credits and awards include The Historical Preservation Society Architectural Design Award for his lighting of Harkins Hall at Providence College; the Engineering Excellence Award for the Freedom Ring with Robert Lorelli. Borchetta is a member of the Theata Alpha Phi (National Theatre Arts Fraternity), USITT, IESNA, and is a Black Friar’s Fellowship Recipient. Pete is a graduate of Providence College and Adelphi University with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Design Technical Theatre, Technical Direction, and Lighting Design.

Pete has worked for some of the industry’s most critical designers and manufacturers, including the venerable Altman Lighting where he now serves as the Senior Product Innovation Manager. Pete’s origins stem in theater where his passion for lighting continues to grow daily.
