Founding Member Launch
Hey friends…
I have an idea brewing, and I can’t let it go. It’s got me SO excited.
But it’s really “raw” right now (so please be gentle 😉 ).
However, did I mention that it’s got me SUPER excited? And how I’d love to involve you?
Here’s the backstory…
For several years I’ve been presenting the Stage Lighting Super Saturday workshops. I often get emails asking, “when is the next one?” or “when will it be closer to where I live?” or “is there a way to go deeper with this content?”
Over the past year, I’ve been getting private messages from people who have reached out with questions like “can you help me figure out this design?” or “can you help me with Vectorworks?” or “can you make a video about audio systems?”
Prior to this, I hadn’t taken the steps to build a space for our community to grow together throughout the entire year.
Of course, it’s something I wanted. I had just never had the time.
But the more questions I got like this, the more my wheels began turning.
I started to see a place where we could…
Unpack all the information that has been presented by the experts at Super Saturday. Even better would be to curate design and tech presentations and then analyze and decode all the information as a group.
or
Have teachers come away with lesson plans that have been created during live group meetings. Questions about how one might present the info can be answered by myself and other members who have taught the subject matter before.
or even…
Establish a repository of basic stage designs that can be shared amongst the group members. Along with the designs might come actual construction drawings for your students or parent volunteers to follow.
As I said, it’s still raw.
But you see the potential, right?
I can’t stop thinking about where a community dedicated to teaching tech theater could lead us in 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years from now.
For those of you exploring CTE programs, this could be very helpful in aligning your programs to meet the requirements.
THAT’S what gets me excited.
It’s the progress we would all make by staying together with such a tight focus – that’s what fires me up.
But here’s what I’m VERY clear on…
I can’t do this alone, and I don’t have all the answers.
Currently, this idea is very rough around the edges.
I haven’t even figured out what to call the group yet.
It’s definitely not perfect (yet), and there are many things we still need to work out.
But the vision is there. And that’s why I’d love to extend an early invitation to you. I want you to be part of this… especially if you’re willing to help me shape this idea.
Meaning, if you join me as a founding member and you’re willing to help contribute ideas on how we can make this THE best place to support teachers in getting the tech kids empowered with actionable skills, I’m willing to extend a very favorable “founding member” price.
When this offer is extended to the general public, I anticipate the starting price for this to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 per month.
(which will be a no-brainer given that we’ll be helping people get better at teaching design/tech to their students).
Here’s the best part, though…
Join me by next Friday, May 28th, as a founding member, and your price will be only $19.95 per month, or yearly at $199.50. AND… you’ll be locked into that founding member price for as long as you remain a member. Bonus #2, yearly founding members will enjoy half-off the admission price to Stage Lighting Super Saturday.
So even when we do roll this out to the general public at a higher price, your price will always be the founding member price.
As I said, all the details for this are not figured out yet. Nothing has officially been created. And I expect some of the best ideas will come from you and others who join me as a founding member.
But the goal is to officially launch this on August 15th in prep for the school year.
So between now and then, things will be happening fast and furious based on the ideas flowing back and forth between founding members.
With all this said, I am clear about how this community will serve all of us to help performing-arts teachers empower themselves and their students. That’s what excites me. That’s why I’m waking up early with my mind racing a million miles a minute.
It all begins here today.
And years from now, we’ll look back on this and say, “do you remember when…”.
Join me. Become a founding member.
All you need to do is SEND ME AN EMAIL so I can sign you up and we can get started..
Here’s to your success, and here’s to the success of our new community!
Thanks for reading this far.
Best, Scott
